Birth of a small giant

NutStation.Com portal was born in 2004 when the owners Lennart André Rolland & & Bodhi B. Sørskår discovered the income potential of online flash games after creating a series of more or less successfull game titles.

Staggy the Boy Scout Slayer II

Our most popular game title so far has been Staggy the boyscour slayer 2. After this success, we decided that we needed somplace to send all the traffic this game generated, and so we decided to create an online game portal.

The portal

After endless quarrels over which name to take and which logo and design to use we ended up with an alpha version of the site using Joomla / PHP and MySQL, hosted at home in the basement using a dodgy DSL connection with dyndns. The site worked great and even hosted highscores for staggy, but we soon realized that it did not hold potential for the future. Our ambition quickly outgrew the site, and after some planning we started developing a new site. This site would use C++ and lots of secret technology to be ultimately scalable.

O2WS

The old site was kept around for a while but was eventually ditched. All effort was put into the development of the C++ magic (which received the name O2WS, or Object Oriented Web Server). As the developemnt progressed we realized that we cannot simply remove our site from the web entirely and expect the public to accept us when we decide to pop back, so an effor was put in to build up a new design, and a temporary site was put up. This is the site you see today.

Hybridization

We also soon realized that ths temporary site served another purpose. While it serves games to the public, it will also give us time to evaluate different layouts and approaches that can be used in the final version of the site.

To infinity... AND BEYOND!

We are still progressing on O2WS development. ETA is a secret, but once O2WS is complete, we will unleash it uppon cyberspace, and you will probably notice when we do.
